Dr. Kristen DeCola
Veterinarian

Dr. Kristen DeCola is the founder and lead veterinarian at Pet’s Choice Animal Hospital. A proud mother to her daughter Lilly and pet parent to her Golden Retriever, Archie Lee, Dr. DeCola brings a warm, family-centered approach to veterinary medicine. She earned her degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 2004, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2008—graduating with honors in both programs.
Dr. DeCola began her career at the Emergency Pet Clinic, where she trained under two board-certified criticalists and developed extensive expertise in managing complex medical and surgical cases. As she transitioned to day practice, her passion for long-term patient care, client education, and veterinary leadership flourished. In 2017, she became the area’s first Fear-Free Certified veterinarian, recognizing the importance of addressing a pet’s emotional well-being alongside their physical health.
In April 2019, she opened Pet’s Choice Animal Hospital with a mission to deliver compassionate, comprehensive care to pets and their families. Her dedication to excellence in veterinary medicine was nationally recognized in 2025 when she was nominated for Trupanion’s Veterinarian of the Year, a testament to her clinical skill, leadership, and impact on the veterinary community.

Dr. Sydney Harter

Dr. Sydney Harter joined the Pet’s Choice Animal Hospital team in 2023, bringing a deep passion for medicine and a love for client education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Arkansas in 2019 and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in 2023. During her final year of vet school, Dr. Harter completed an externship with Pet’s Choice and was drawn to the practice’s supportive, team-oriented atmosphere.
Her professional interests include ophthalmology, dentistry, and reptile medicine. Dr. Harter enjoys empowering pet owners with the knowledge and tools they need to care for their companions at home. She shares her life with two cats, Kanani and Kawika, and two corn snakes, Gizmo and Griggs. In addition to her veterinary work, she is an accomplished equestrian and dancer, having competed in both disciplines for many years.

She began her career as a receptionist and advanced through the ranks to become practice manager. Her deep passion for animals made her transition into the veterinary field a natural choice. In her free time, Jaycie enjoys relaxing at home, traveling, and spending time with friends. She is proud to be part of such an exceptional team.

Originally from the Detroit area, Hannah moved to Texas in May 2016 and quickly fell in love with the Lone Star State. She earned her LVT license in Michigan in 2015 and has worked with a wide range of animals, though she has a soft spot for cows and exotic birds. Now based just north of Waco, Hannah contributes to Pet’s Choice remotely, assisting with client service and administrative responsibilities. Outside of work, she enjoys photography, gardening, and spending quality time with her family.

A proud pet parent to two dogs and two cats, she is especially passionate about providing compassionate, fear-free experiences for patients of all sizes. With a strong interest in animal behavior and training, Meghan places a high priority on her patients’ emotional well-being. She finds great fulfillment in educating pet owners to ensure their companions receive excellent care both in the clinic and at home.

Lindsey joined Pet’s Choice Animal Hospital in October 2021, beginning her career as a kennel technician before transitioning into reception and eventually becoming a veterinary technician assistant. With a lifelong love for animals—from farm animals to family pets—Lindsey has always known she wanted to work in the veterinary field. She shares her home with three pets: Tobi, an orange cat, and two dachshunds, Remi and Kimber. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing or going out with her family and furry companions. Lindsey is excited to assist clients and their beloved pets.

Amanda became a valued member of the Pet’s Choice team in 2021, serving as Lead Kennel Technician for two years. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from Texas State University and has since transitioned into the role of Veterinary Assistant. Originally from Houston, Amanda is always eager to expand her skills and knowledge. Though she now works in a different capacity, she still enjoys visiting the boarders she once cared for. Amanda especially enjoys caring for the clinic cats. Outside of work, she is a proud dog mom to a Boston Terrier named Beaux and enjoys exploring new hobbies.

Kayla has always had a deep love for animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to work in the veterinary field. She currently cares for two cats—Mushroom, a brown tabby, and Ender, a tortoiseshell/calico mix. When she’s not working, Kayla enjoys exploring new places or relaxing at home with her fiancé. At Pet’s Choice, she serves as a front receptionist and is also training as a nurse assistant, with plans to become a certified veterinary nurse. Kayla takes pride in helping clients and their furry companions feel welcomed and cared for.

Allie is a proud wife and mother of two, with a furry family member named Champ. Having grown up with dogs and horses, she has always dreamed of a career in veterinary medicine. Zoe has been passionate about animals from a young age. She began working with them seven years ago through her pet sitting business and entered the veterinary field in 2022. Her goal is to attend Texas A&M University to become a veterinarian. Zoe loves working with her fellow team members, the doctors, and especially the boarders under her care. She is excited about her future and the opportunity to continue serving animals.

With over 13 years of experience as a veterinary technician, Hanna brings a deep passion for animal care to the Pet’s Choice team. Many of her pets joined her family through rescue and rehabilitation, including a 16-year-old leopard gecko and two cats she bottle-raised from only a few days old. Hanna has a strong interest in surgery and dentistry, and she is especially meticulous about anesthetic safety. In her personal time, she enjoys yoga, wood-burning, writing, and wildlife photography.

Abigail shares her life with three beagles and a lovable Pitbull. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her fiancé, especially fishing and seeking new adventures. Her vibrant energy and commitment to animals make her a valued part of the Pet’s Choice team.

Originally from the Big Island of Hawai’i, Madelyn relocated to Central Texas in 2016. While living in Pflugerville, she earned her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and became licensed in 2021. She now practices as an LVT with a focus on small animal medicine. Madelyn is especially passionate about caring for elderly cats and pets with special needs. She enjoys beach trips, home décor, and spending time with her husband. At home, she has two dogs (Pumba and George), two special-needs cats (Roo and Izzy), and a crested gecko named Beans.

Gabby has been a veterinary technician since 2003, bringing over 20 years of experience to her role. She has a particular passion for veterinary dentistry and excels in helping animals maintain healthy, pain-free smiles. Her background includes extensive work in emergency and intensive care settings, where she developed advanced skills in critical care. Outside of work, Gabby cherishes time with her boxers, her bunny, and—above all—her children. Her compassion and dedication shine in both her professional and personal life.
